Not so shy "girl"

Another version of the previous artwork.
I hope you like it.

My routine for to make an artwork:
  • Make a sketch with pencil on paper.
  • Scan the roughs.
  • Create the digital lineart on computer using GIMP and only an ordinary mouse. (the most boring and slow part of the work.)
  • Put colors with GIMP.(It´s easy and quickly. )

I´m thinking seriously about to buy a Wacom tablet...

  1. Believe me having a tablet will make you feel reborn. Thus you'll avoid the boring part with scanning and then inking using mouse. GIMP is surely a free tool to draw with, but have in mind using other programs. Every has it's own advantages - for example SAI paint tool - is great for inking work. PhotoShop has cool options with filters and the using of fonts is easy, a huge powerful tool. Art Rage is program that sometimes comes along with buying Wacom tablet and can be considered as fun to use tool.
I'm using Corel Painter and I'm using it with pleasure. It gives the option to draw with several different options to use different digital pencils. Like real pencils. There are cool effects/filters too(glowing, hair, piano keys- lol)
Get the best tablet and let's see the results afterwards - you'll be amazed of yourself for sure!

  2. I concur with Mavruda. Even the smallest (and thus cheapest) Wacom tablet will be a huge improvement over a mouse.
